The piston and connecting rod of the cylinder are pushed by an influx of pressurized gas. The piston must be returned to the starting position after each stroke. To reduce the impact of the piston, it is specially equipped with a mechanical cushioning as it reaches the end of the stroke. Based on the means of piston returning mechanism, it is classified into single & double action cylinder.
